Immigration Courts once again have the power to shelf cases to Allow NonCitizens to Apply for Unlawful Presence Waiver before leaving the Country

The attorney general just overturned a Trump immigration decision that eliminated administrative closure. Admin Closure allow the Immigration Judge to “shelve” (no scheduled hearings). This allows noncitizens with petitions from spouses or parents to stay in the United States until their waiver of unlawful presence is approved, before leaving picking up their green card in their country of origin. 2 weeks out of country versus 6 months or more. Family friendly decision by the Biden administration.
